Tell us about your case

or call 1-866-568-4913

SwitchMyAttorney is a free Florida service for people who are unhappy with how their injury lawyer is handling their case. We explain your right to switch, with the rule or decision behind every answer, and, only if you ask, send your request to one participating Florida firm that handles your kind of case near you. We are a lawyer matching service, not a law firm, and we do not give legal advice.

  • Who it is for People in Florida who already have a lawyer for a car, truck, motorcycle, rideshare, pedestrian, slip-and-fall, dog bite or wrongful death case, and want to know whether, when and how to change.
  • What it costs Nothing to you. The firm pays us a flat fee that does not depend on your case, never a share of any attorney fee or recovery.
  • What is different We do not contact your current firm. No attorney calls you until you ask. Your request goes to one firm only, and you are told its name and where its office is when you are connected. If you later change lawyers, telling your current firm is a step you take with the new one.
  • How to start Read the answer to your question, then use the form or call 1-866-568-4913. You do not have to call a law firm first.

Who runs SwitchMyAttorney?

Olivier Vallo González runs SwitchMyAttorney. The site is published by Second Option Connect LLC, trading as switchmyattorney.com, which is the name shown at the bottom of every page, as Rule 4-7.22(d)(9) of the Rules Regulating The Florida Bar requires of a qualifying provider.

SwitchMyAttorney is a qualifying provider under Rule 4-7.22: a service that connects a person who wants a different attorney with attorneys who have agreed to participate. It is not a law firm, it has no attorneys on staff, and it does not review cases or give advice. What that means in practice is set out in full.

What does SwitchMyAttorney do?

  • It explains your right to change lawyers. Every legal statement on the site carries the rule, statute or court decision behind it, cited by number so you can check it yourself.
  • It sends your request to one participating firm, only if you ask. The firm handles Florida injury cases like yours where you are. When the connection is made you are told the firm's name and the city or county of its office, as Rule 4-7.22(d)(10) requires.
  • It does not rank or recommend firms. Rule 4-7.22(d)(11) prohibits communicating in a way that leads you to conclude a qualifying provider is a law firm, and a recommendation would do exactly that.
  • It does not contact your current firm. If you later hire a new firm and change lawyers, notifying your current firm is part of that change, and the new firm handles it with you.

How it works, step by step describes what happens from the form to the first conversation with a firm.

How are the pages written?

The pages are written by the SwitchMyAttorney editorial team from primary sources: the Rules Regulating The Florida Bar, the Florida Statutes and the decisions of Florida courts. They are general information, not legal advice about your case, and nothing here promises an outcome.

The Florida Bar does not endorse, approve or certify this service. Rules are cited because they are the law that answers the question, and citing a rule is not an approval by the Bar (Rule 4-7.22(d)(8)).

How is SwitchMyAttorney paid?

Participating firms pay SwitchMyAttorney a flat fee, set in advance. It does not depend on the outcome of any case, it is not a percentage of any attorney fee, and it is not calculated on any recovery. You are never charged. How we get paid sets out the structure in full.

How do you reach SwitchMyAttorney?

Call 1-866-568-4913 or use the form. If you think something on the site is wrong, say so by either route; the not-a-law-firm page explains what happens when someone reports an error.

Tell us what is happening in your case and it goes to a participating firm near you that handles it. We do not contact your current firm, and there is no cost to you.
